    Overview

    Students help a company create a new website or improve an existing one, with a focus on communication, structure, visuals, customer experience, and basic no-code development. Depending on project complexity, students may complete website planning only, including sitemap, structure, content, and mockups, or build a functional no-code website using tools such as Canva, Wix, WordPress, Google Sites, or Framer. The project is designed for 60 student hours with 8-12 mentor hours over 3-5 weeks.

    Week-wise schedule

    1. Phase 1

      Understanding the Business

      • Understand what the company does, its target audience, products or services, and brand personality
      • Review the existing website if available
      • Study competitor websites
      • Deliver a business understanding summary and competitor website review
    2. Phase 2

      Website Research & Planning

      • Research website layouts, industry trends, and best practices
      • Plan homepage structure, navigation menu, and required pages
      • Map common pages such as Home, About Us, Products or Services, Contact, FAQs, and Gallery or Portfolio
      • Deliver a sitemap and website wireframe or sketch
    3. Phase 3

      Content Development

      • Write headings, short descriptions, calls-to-action, and FAQs
      • Collect product information, images, and testimonials
      • Deliver the website content draft
    4. Phase 4

      Visual Design

      • Design layouts, color themes, page sections, and image placement
      • Create mockups using tools such as Canva or Figma
      • Deliver website mockups and designs
    5. Phase 5

      Website Building

      • Build the website using no-code platforms such as Wix, Google Sites, WordPress, or Framer
      • Upload content, add images, and organize page sections
      • Check mobile responsiveness
      • Deliver a functional website draft
    6. Phase 6

      Testing & Improvement

      • Test mobile view, readability, broken links, and loading clarity
      • Gather feedback from the mentor, business owner, and peers
      • Deliver an improvement checklist and revised website
    7. Phase 7

      Final Presentation

      • Present website structure, design choices, customer journey, and improvements made
      • Deliver the final presentation and website handover

    • No advanced coding experience required
